The processing of personal data is governed by Act No. 90/2018 on Data Protection and the Processing of Personal Data administered by Iceland’s Ministry of Justice, as it stands at any given time.

Well Advised, kt. 520221-1310, is responsible for the registration of personal information and the processing of that information in its activities. WA, based at Suðurlandsbraut 6, 108 Reykjavík, is the legal custodian of the personal information you provide to the company. You can contact WA about the handling of personal information by sending a written inquiry to welladvised@welladvised.cloud.

WA collects personal information so that the services offered can be provided. These include:

Business & Operational Data
WA collects information about employees, customers, and suppliers that the company is obliged to retain in accordance with laws and regulations, contracts, the consent of the parties or due to other legitimate interests of the responsible party.

WA collects personal information about its customers for three purposes; to provide them with access to goods and services in accordance with the provisions of commercial agreements, to ensure that services are tailored to their needs and to provide them with information for marketing purposes.

WA only collects information that is necessary to provide advice or services at any given time. If a customer chooses not to provide personal information, it is possible that WA will not be able to provide services to the party in question.

Job applications
WA receives job applications by email or via a dedicated application process on LinkedIn. Through LinkedIn, WA gets access to personal information that you have provided on your personal LinkedIn page, but the process also allows you to attach a CV to the application. We may store your application and relevant personal information for up to 6 months after submitting your application.

Inquiries & Complaints
You can contact WA with inquiries and suggestions via the company's website, or by messaging via the company’s LinkedIn and Facebook page. WA may collect basic information about the interviewer in such cases, in order to be able to follow up on his / her inquiry.

Newsletters & E-mail communications
Contact names and email addresses for customer communication are stored at Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC). WA uses this information to send out information and announcements related to services and news of the company's operations.

WA does not send targeted e-mails or e-mails unless the recipient has previously given their consent. The recipient has the right to withdraw his consent to such processing by sending an e-mail to welladvised@welladvised.cloud, or by clicking an unsubscribe link in the e-mails.

Well Advised’ website

You can view and use WA’s website without providing any personal information. However, we use users' IP addresses to diagnose problems on our web servers and manage our site. When you use WA’s website, information about the visit will be collected. WA does not communicate them to others except in accordance with the legal obligation to the supervisory body.

Cookies are used to count visits to the website and to identify previous users. The site uses cookies sparingly and responsibly. Users can configure their browsers themselves to report cookies or reject them altogether.

WA uses Google Analytics for web analytics. Each time the website is visited, some data is collected, such as the time and date of the visit, keywords used to find the website, the website from which it came and the type of browser and operating system of the website visitor.

The data collected is used to develop and improve the website so that it is more accessible and convenient to use. No further data is collected. The data collected is not linked to any other personally identifiable information.

Security of your personal information
WA strives to make certain that its servers and connections incorporate the latest encryption and security devices. The website uses so-called SSL certificates, which means that all communication takes place over an encrypted communication layer, which makes data transfer through it more secure.

Great emphasis is placed on the safekeeping of personal information at all times. Personal information will not be accessible to parties other than WA's staff.

WA never sells, rents or shares any private data with third parties without your consent. WA may share personal information with a third party who is a service provider or contractor on behalf of the company, and then for the purpose of completing a project or providing customers with a service or product on which the customer has agreed. WA only provides these parties with the personal information that is deemed necessary to achieve the above purpose.

You are free to reject such disclosure except where we are required to do so by law or in cases where it is deemed necessary to uphold or defend a legal claim. However, please note that all content you post or share on our social media sites is public information.

In cases where a third party gains access to personal information, WA ensures confidentiality and that data is deleted after processing.

WA’ services and content on its website may contain links to other sites that WA does not control. Clicking on a third-party link will take you directly to that respective page. WA strongly recommends that you review the privacy policies of each site you visit.

Vettvang's privacy policy does not cover information or the processing of third parties, but we have no control over or are responsible for their use, publication or other processing of personal information.

WA will notify you without undue delay in the event of a security breach of your personal data and/or any significant risk to your data protection.

A security breach refers to a breach of security that results in the unintentional or unlawful deletion of personal data or that it is lost, altered, published, or accessed without permission.

However, your attention is drawn to the fact that you are responsible for personal information, e.g. name, ID number, and photo, which you choose to share or send in a public forum e.g. through WA’s social media pages.

WA tries its best to keep personal information about you accurate and reliable and updates it as needed. The personally identifiable information provided to us is stored for the time necessary to fulfill the objectives of WA’s Privacy Policy unless required by law or by a longer retention period.

WA’s Privacy Policy is reviewed regularly. WA will notify you of any changes by posting a new Privacy Policy on its website and it will take effect immediately upon publication. A new version shall be identified by the date of the issue. When material changes are made that may affect your rights, we will notify you specifically.
